Wednesday, Apr 17, 2002, at 06:24 AM UOXBox 1.0 Preview Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | A few days ago a new tool for UOX-Classic caught my eye: UOXBox. I was very impressed with the graphical layout of the
menus - the ease of use to add items directly to the client - especially with viewable images.
The author, Cyberspud sent me the following when I enquired:
"Right now it only works with UOXC/UOX3.70's *.scp format. It could
probably work with any emu that uses this format (like Wolfpack?). I
suppose Outside UOXC (the Inside UO clone that directly adds items into
the client) could work with UOX3.95, I would just have to have a toggle
for the different 'add syntax.
Again, I am flattered that someone actually noticed it...I've put many,
many hours into it and I am quite pleased with the way it is turning
out. It is the GM tool I wish I always had, but never could find. I
hope this answers your questions."

| Tuesday, Apr 23, 2002, at 06:52 AM UOXBox Version 0.0.3 Update Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox Version 0.0.3 Update:
Version 0.0.3 has been compiled This version is extremely close to what I envisioned the
first public preview to be. I am aiming for a May 1, 2002 release (forgoing any catastrophes, of course). The
screen shots have been updated to reflect this newest version as much of the interface has undergone
major improvements (well, I think they are improvements, heh).
And in response to the numerous requests I have received, while I do plan on releasing the
code, I do not plan on doing so until I have had a chance to clean it up. Thanks for
your interest, it shouldn't be long now. :)

| Tuesday, Apr 30, 2002, at 06:48 AM UOXBox 0.0.4 Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox 0.0.4 has been compiled:
This build actually surpasses what I envisioned for the public preview. I am still planning on a May 1st release...but please expect delays (just in case).
- Item script manager added
- Shard Specialist, the UOXBox GM Tool started – Item tab is fully functional
- Command prefix can be changed for Shard Specialist
- Many error checks added (increased stability)
- Increased compatibility with the test scripts received (thanks Webrunner!)
- More interface polishing
- User friendly “Please wait…” dialogues where appropriate
- Numerous bug fixes and other things I cannot think of at the moment
For what it is worth, I've actually started world building with UOXBox and I have to say, it does make things a little easier...but it won't be too long before you will be able to formulate your own opinion.

| Thursday, May 2, 2002, at 06:38 AM UOXBox Bundled With UOX-Classic Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOX-Classic 1.2 is slated for release within the next few days and UOXBox will be bundled with it.
From the UOXBox site:
"Well, the time has (finally) come. The UOXBox preview is being bundled with UOX:Classic's
newest release, version 1.2. According to Sargo of UOXC, version 1.2 is slated for
release sometime tonight (after a little, last minute testing). Keep an eye out and be sure to grab a copy!"

- Numerous bug fixes.
Also please note the website change.

| Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at 06:44 AM UOXBox 0.0.6 and 0.0.7 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox version 0.0.6 Released:
- The new Character CleanUp utility allows you to delete old and unused characters. Simply set
how many days deems a character "old" and then delete characters based on this criteria.
- The Spawn Region Editor allows you to easily add, delete, and edit your spawn regions. Draw regions right
onto the map, and add spawn items directly from your scripts.
- Browsing for your server executable should now function correctly.
- A small error in the way the options were being used has been fixed.
- Also fixed a few issues with the "first time" initialization sequence.
- Fixed a few minor bugs and added numerous error checks to improve stability.
As with any release, I would suggest running UOXBox Initialization to build any new definition
files. I would also suggest that you download the 0.0.6 complete installer as there is a new OCX
included for viewing the UO map. If you have version 0.0.5, UOXBox should be able to update itself!
Also, a special thanks goes to Dedritch for his last minute debugging help. Thanks Dedritch!
UOXBox version 0.0.7 Released:
- Released to fix a few bugs and add a couple of error checks.
Why does this justify a new release you ask? It doesn't...but new OCX's do! Adding the updated
OCX's was MUCH easier then I thought it would be. Now, you can specify custom map and
art directories from the Configuration Wizard...not to mention Verdata.mul is now supported. The
new UOArt OCX is so much faster...this is especially noticable in Outside UOXC. The autoupdating
feature has also been updated...now you have to rebuild the definition files when a new version
is released. I haven't packaged up this new version on the downloads page. For now, download 0.0.6 and
use the auto update feature.

| Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at 06:30 AM UOXBox 0.0.8 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox version 0.0.8 has been released:
I apologize for the flurry of releases...this is a very minor release that fixes an issue with the
Autoupdater not registering the OCX's correctly. This version is available in the Downloads section.

| Monday, Jul 1, 2002, at 06:23 AM UOXBox Version 0.0.9 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox Version 0.0.9 has been released:
- The Town Region editor was a major undertaking and presented an abundance of issues...not to mention, there are
probably a few interface bugs. PLEASE use the forums to report any bugs you may find. If you find the Region Editor
has trouble editing your REGION.SCP file, please send it to UOXBox support so it can be debugged.
- On a positive note, there is a basic path creation tool located in the Shard Specialist (for UOXC's new NPC path following).
- Also, the background for the UO art boxes was changed back to black (by popular request).

| Friday, Jul 5, 2002, at 06:46 AM UOXBox v0.1.0 and v0.1.1 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox Versions 0.1.0 and 0.1.1 have been released:
These versions were released over the last few days via the auto update:
- A quick maintenance release to fix an issue with saving the midi list for town regions.
- In answer to a user request, there is now a roof building tool located in Outside UOXC. This is the first of a few building tools that will be added to the Outside UOXC interface.
Please use the autoupdate feature to get these updates.

| Monday, Jul 8, 2002, at 06:44 AM UOXBox Version 0.1.2 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox 0.1.2 has been released:
Yet another update released via the autoupdate (dang that thing this handy)...
There is now a stair building tool located in Outside UOXC to go along with the new
roof builder. I plan on adding a wall and floor builder over the next week. After that, I'll probably work
on completing Shard Specialist as I have had a few folks ask about it.

| Wednesday, Jul 17, 2002, at 06:55 AM UOXBox 0.1.3 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox 0.1.3 has been released:
- Another AutoUpdate release...version 0.1.3 is sort of a "half way" release for the new Wall Builder.
- There are almost 50 wall types to choose from. I haven't gotten to the "short" walls yet, but that should follow pretty quickly. You also can only build walls in a "square" shape, I will add the "line" in the next release.
- There is also a toolbar by request. Now you can minimize the main menu and keep the much smaller toolbar up and out of the way. I will probably get a little fancier with it, but I just wanted to get it in for now.
- Also sprinkled in some error checking for added stability.

| Monday, Aug 19, 2002, at 06:39 AM UOXBox Version 0.1.4 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox Version 0.1.4 has been released:
By popular request, the SERVER and GM tabs of the Shard Specialist tool have been added.
This version also introduces the HitList. Anyone who has used MiniMythril (a classic UOX tool) will apprecaite this latest addition. It allows you to store up to 120 of your most commonly used commands and phrases in an easy to use interface. You can even include variables (which will prompt you for values) in the commands you store!
There was also a small bug in the way the client calibration was saving to the registry. Hopefully this has been fixed.
It has also been a while since I updated the installer, so I will be placing a new installer in the downloads section.

| Tuesday, Aug 27, 2002, at 06:58 AM UOXBox Version 0.1.5 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox Version 0.1.5 has been released:
Nothing major in this release. Just added a Door Builder tool, by request, to the OutsideUOXC interface.
Hopefully I can finish up the Wall Builder, add the Floor Builder, then wrap up the Shard Specialist soon so I can go back to working on the script editing side of UOXBox.
I make no promises, though... ;}

| Tuesday, Sep 3, 2002, at 06:37 AM UOXBox 0.1.6 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox 0.1.6 has been released:
Against the spirit of Labor Day, I spent the entire morning going through the UO art file
to bring the total materials for the Wall Builder up to 52. And some walls also have a Short and Half
variety which bring the total number of different wall types to 79! Some of the walls are really
pretty cool looking and this should bring some variety to the walls you can build.
Also, the Wall Builder can now build in straight lines. UOXBox determines which way the wall
should go (horizontally or vertically) based on the coordinates you enter.
Not a major release, but not TOO shabby. There are only a few things left (Floor Builder, and
finishing off the Shard Specialist) before I'll continue working on the script editing side of UOXBox again.

| Thursday, Sep 12, 2002, at 07:38 AM UOXBox 0.1.7 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBOx version 0.1.7 has been released:
Just a quick maintenance release. I was (finally) able to reproduce
the NPC Script Manager bug that folks have been reporting. To be honest, I have no clue
what I did, but I went to use UOXBox and the error started showing up. Anyway, the bug
has been fixed and the NPC Script Manager should now load properly. Thanks for your patience on this one.

| Monday, Oct 7, 2002, at 06:23 AM UOXBox 0.1.8 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox 0.1.8 has been released:
Yet another small release to let everyone know that yes, UOXBox is still being worked on. And I could rattle off all kinds of excuses as well, but I'll spare you.
Nothing major in this release...just the first of many wizards have been added to Shard Specialist.
Please, if you have an opinion on the NPC spawner wizard, post it on the forums!
Thanks for using UOXBox!

| Monday, Oct 14, 2002, at 06:45 AM UOXBOX 0.1.9 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBOX 0.1.9 has been released:
- A much improved "send to client" routine. UOXBox now delivers commands much more quickly to the client. This
became an issue as I have been heavily using the new spawn wizard...there was a very noticable delay between button
click and client reaction time. It should be much better now.
- SendKey latency can now be controlled from the Options window.
- The Nudge control has been enabled in Shard Specialist. Nudge is a small control that allows the user to easily move items around.

| Tuesday, Oct 22, 2002, at 06:43 AM UOXBOX 0.2.0 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBOX 0.2.0 has been released:
Introducing one of UOXBox's most useful tools ever...the Travel Agent!
With UOXBox calibrated, the Travel Agent will track your movements around the map ala UO Auto-Map. While
this is handy, the Travel Agent truly shines with its ability to teleport your character anywhere on the map.
Simply right-click on the map display and your character will be dropped at that spot. Move around the map
quickly and easily without runes or the 'ADD command!
Upcoming features will give you the ability to "mark" locations so you can keep a list of "favorite" places you
visit most.
The Area NPC Spawner wizard has also been added.
Please report all bugs on the UOXBox forums and as always, thanks for using UOXBox!

| Monday, Nov 25, 2002, at 06:16 AM UOXBox 0.2.1 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox 0.2.1 has been released:
Finally, another UOXBox release...version 0.2.1 is actually a decent update packed with the following wholesome goodness:
- A totally revamped and much improved NPC Editor! All the latest UOXC tokens are accounted for as well as some that have been missing since the beginning. I ran out of room on the interface, so everything is very neatly divided up on tabs. The NPC picker now has a "Find" feature that allows you to quickly find an NPC based on keyword. The NPC's ID is MUCH easier to edit complete with a list of available ID's. A couple of bugs have been worked out of the item adding routines and the item lists are now part of the NPC display instead of on seperate windows.
- The addition of the latest uoArt OCX control that supports the LBR animations (complete with black background).
- The new NPC Sorter which offers a tree view of your NPC's and allows you to create containers. You can sort your NPC's into these containers for easy NPC management. You can even put containers inside of containers.
- I added some error checking as well for more stability and re-organized some of the code.

| Tuesday, Nov 26, 2002, at 06:15 AM UOXBOX 0.2.1 Bugs Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | Posted on the UOXBOX website:
In using the latest version of UOXBox to work on my shard this morning, I have discovered a few bugs (SLAYER values not being saved correctly, LOOTLIST's not showing up correctly to name a few)...
...and I thought I had done a decent job of bug smashing. Oh, well, no amount of testing will equal actually using a program in a production environment.
Look for a "maintanence" release sometime in the next few days.

| Wednesday, Nov 27, 2002, at 06:25 AM UOXBOX 0.2.2 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBOX 0.2.2 has been released:
- SLAYER values are saved correctly.
- The NOLEAVE token is loaded correctly.
- The MAXHP and TOPROVOKE text boxes now refresh correctly.
- LootList load time has been drastically reduced.
- Adding a LootList shows actual LootLists and not ItemLists.
- Fixed an instance where the "Initializing NPC Script Editor" dialogue box would stay up even after the editor was loaded.
- The NPC Sorter is now saved more often.
- The NPC Sorter Discovery now verifies the names of the NPC's (so NPC name changes will show up on the list).

| Monday, Dec 2, 2002, at 06:21 AM UOXCWizard Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | Posted on the UOXBOX website:
Introducing a new tool...
Introducing the first stand-alone UOXBox tool that's geared toward first time UOXClassic users.
The UOXClassic First Time Setup Wizard
Simply place the UOXCWizard in the same directory as your UOXC server files.
Run the wizard and answer a few simple questions to setup your shard.
Hopefully, I can get this tool included in all upcoming UOXClassic releases (if it proves useful).
NOTE: The wizard requires the Visual Basic Runtime Libraries which can be downloaded from Microsoft's website. If you have installed UOXBox, you should have all the libraries you need.

| Thursday, Dec 26, 2002, at 06:10 AM UOXBOX Updates Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | Posted on the UOXBOX website:
Just to let everyone know...the next version of UOXBox will be released as part of the big UOXC 2.0
release that Sargo has scheduled for sometime around Christmas. Wow, that is only 5 days away...better get
back to work. :)

| Tuesday, Jan 14, 2003, at 06:19 AM UOXBOX Version 0.2.3 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBOX version 0.2.3 has been released:
I have decided to release 0.2.3 a little ahead of schedule...this version is just too good to keep to myself any longer.
The biggest change is the newly revamped Shard Specialist. Due to popular demand, I have almost completely mimicked one of
the greatest admin tools of all time, Shard Ace. While not perfect, it does contain most of the functionality of Shard Ace and adds a
few little tweaks to make it even better. There is too much to list here...you will just will have to try it for yourself!
UOXBox finally supports the 3D client. If you want to use the 3D client to admin your shard, simply go into UOXBox's options
and change the Command Prefix to double apostrophe's.
Numerous bug fixes and error handling routines for added stability.
Notes: Shard Specialist now requires a few definition scripts and a new OCX library to function correctly. Because of this, UOXBox will not
autoupdate completely. I would suggest re-installing UOXBox using the latest installer available in the downloads section.
UOXBOX: http://www.derekland.com/uoxbox/
| Wednesday, Mar 19, 2003, at 06:12 AM UOXBOX 0.2.5 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBOX 0.2.5 has been released:
Introducing the new "Ore Region Editor" that will make editing the new MINING.SCP much easier. Using a map of your shard, simple
choose which regions are minable by your players. Next, generate the colored ores in those regions. Finally, export your finished
ore regions to your MINING.SCP.
One thing to keep in mind...the MINING.SCP file can get rather large very quickly. This can really slow down your shard's startup
time. I would suggest less then 50% of your mining regions have colored ore. Again, this is just my suggestion. :)
UOXBOX: http://www.derekland.com/uoxbox/
| Wednesday, Mar 19, 2003, at 06:13 AM UOXBOX "Starter Kit" Scripts Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | From UOXBOX:
Now available for download are a few UOXBox scripts that should help new users get started. I have called the zip file the
"starter kit" (lame, I know) and it contains:
- A Favorites file with some of the tiles I use most. Copy this into your UOXBox directory and then load up OutsideUOXC.
- An NPCSort file...this is the default UOXC:NS NPC.SCP file completely sorted into groups. Drop this into your UOXBox folder and
open up the NPC Editor. All the NPC's will now be conveniently sorted into (some what) logical groups (making them much easier to
manage).
- An ORETemplate1 file...this is an ore region template file of the standard OSI map of Britannia (minus T2A and the dungeons).
Drop this into your UOXBox folder and open of the new Ore Regions editor. This will give you a head start on setting up the
colored ore regions on your shard.
I know this doesn't seem like much, but I thought it might a few folks save a little time. REMEMBER! If you already have these
scripts, please make backups so you don't lose them!

| Monday, Mar 31, 2003, at 06:16 AM UOXBox 0.2.6 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBox 0.2.6 has been released:
I was in a "graphical" kind of mood today and totally revamped the main menu. This is an entirely cosmetic change.

| Tuesday, Apr 8, 2003, at 06:36 AM UOXBox 0.2.7 Released Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | UOXBOX 0.2.7 has been released:
Introducing the biggest update to UOXBox in quite some time.
The Item Editor has been completely overhauled to include a MUCH improved interface, an Item Sorter (just like the Character
Editor), over 30 new tokens like the AoS Elemental resistances (available only in UOXC:NS), and the ability to chose an item's ID
from a searchable list.
OutsideUOXC has also recieved a few new features. The tile cursor is now "hot tracked"...simply left-click to place the
highlighted tile and right-click to create a favorite. The highlighted tile's name is also now displayed along side its ID. The
most time saving feature, however, is the ability to search via keyword through the tile's names. This makes finding that
long-lost tile a snap.
The Character Editor now includes the AoS Elemental tokens (resistance and damage as well as Luck) and an "Estimate Damage" tool.
This tool offers a "best guess" on the base damage (without a weapon) for a given NPC. The formula UOXBox uses is the exact same
as the updated AoS combat formula used in UOXC:NS, so the results are pretty accurate.
As always, if you have any issues, please use the forums. Enjoy!

| Monday, May 12, 2003, at 06:43 AM UOXBOX Updates For UOC:NS Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | From UOXBox:
UOXC:NS has been undergoing some major changes as of late (most of which has been ported to UOXC). You may notice that certain
features of UOXBox are "broken" for the time being. Never fear, the next version of UOXBox will recognize the new scripts
(LIST.SCP for example) and all will be made right.
UOXBox: http://www.derekland.com/uoxbox/
| Friday, Jun 20, 2003, at 06:23 AM UOXBOX Ends Development Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | Looks like UOXBOX will no longer be developed. From UOXBOX:
As I stated over on the Artisan's Guild, I will no longer be developing UOXC:NS...and most likely, I will be scrapping UOXBox. I
am converting my shard (New Sosaria: The Second Coming) to RunUO and it already has a plethora of GM tools, so I'm not sure it
would be worth porting UOXBox.
Anyway, I will probably release one final edition with the few changes I have added since version 0.2.7.
Also, I don't plan on release the source at this time, so please don't ask.
Thanks...it's been fun.

| Tuesday, Dec 23, 2003, at 07:28 AM RunUOXBox 0.1 Beta Posted By n/a UOXBOX. -Guid- | ↑ | From UOXBox:
am nearing completion of the first beta release of the new RunUOXBox. Most of the important tools have been ported with only the
Shard Specialist needing major work. Each tool has recieved a total overhaul, with a few new features thrown in (the OutsideUO
"mini view" is my favorite). I hope to have a download available in the next few weeks for anyone interested.
