Fuse Ultima Online Emulator.

|
Looks like FUSE is back up and running again. A development team is being put together.
Eagle writes the following about FUSE:
"fuse started way way back, in the days of uox1 written by fallo. fallo in the begning was a part of the orig uox dev team, becouse of
diffrences between fallo and the dev team ( not sure if it was personal or coding standarts ) Fallo started FUSE ( Fallo's Ultima Server Engine )
fresh with all new code ( before uox was GPL ie UOX3 ) from the knowlage he had learned from the uox team.
With that said Fuse was just that a SERVER ENGINE not the whole emu, it still required a DLL ( fusegame.dll )
to run a full emu. Fuse its self was closed source but he allowed the interface fuse.lib to be opened
so other devolopers could make the actual game dynamics like combat , magic, etc without
worrying about the low level server code like login and walking , he himself never
made a DLL for fuse instead others like Cappella ( CFuse ) , XFuse , and others
made dll to "plugin" to fuse.
This continued for a very long time ( untill early 2000 ) both Fuse and CFuse were devoloped
( upto client 1.26.04 ) then at that time fallo had left the uo seen altogather and cappella , westy and myself had been
keeping the fuse engine togather ( still closed source ) and capella working on at the time
the most popular dll ( cfuse also closed source ), thats where things got harry , Westy kept himself busy with
Sphere, I myself moved to Sphere then shortly thereafter to UOX3 and Cappella had a new project
going ( a totaly new online game from scratch NOT an emu ) so had very little time for fuse/cfuse let it slip into the abyss.
So that brings us to today. I had long since lost the cfuse dll and fuse source and cappella was very
hard to get ahold of, and fallo was impossible ( as i dont think he even is on the internet
anymore becouse of personal problems ) . Then Cappella pops in here reciently to a fourm i frequent
and offers the source back and that he had updated the encrypt to work with the "no crypt clients".
So here we are with the codebase from cfuse and fuse combine to make one universal fuse , no
more dll etc distobuted seperately and it is released under the GPL license.
As for how far along it is , i will post a doc under the doc section detailing what is working and what isnt etc sometime today."

| Eagle has decided to work on Sphere instead of FUSE. The following was posted on Eagle's site:
Ok I have made the decission to dedicate all my free time to sphere. This I
dont want to hinder the Fuse project by leaving a dead webpage up. If soneone wants to
continue it , i will give them the code and forward this page to their new page.
If someone wants the code to continue it e-mail me (eagle@uoxdev.com)
